Toyota recently released their April 2016 sales figures. They sold a total of 186,243 units which is a 5 percent increase from April 2015. Want to know the highlights for Toyota this past month? Keep reading for more information.
Toyota had a lot to be excited about in the month of April! The 2016 Toyota Camry posted sales of more than 34,000 units. This was the most of any Toyota model for the month of April. Coming in second place for total unit sales was the 2016 Toyota Corolla that posted sales of 32,111 units. Three Toyota vehicles celebrated their best-ever April sales: The 2016 Toyota RAV4 sales rose 31.6 percent, the 2016 Toyota Highlander was up 9.3 percent, and the 2016 Toyota 4Runner sales were up more than 36 percent. Then there were other Toyota vehicles that increased their sales in the month of April: the 2016 Toyota Sequoia was up 18 percent, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser increase sales 78 percent, and the 2016 Toyota Tacoma sales were up almost 16 percent for the month.
Toyota was also pleased to announce they posted record April numbers for light truck sales; up almost 13 percent for the month.
“The industry had its strongest April in more than 10 years, possibly a best-ever month.” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “Toyota division enjoyed its sixth consecutive month of best-ever light truck sales, helped by record Highlander, RAV4 and 4Runner sales.”
