The Toyota brand is excited to welcome the new TRD Pro to the 2017 Toyota Tacoma line up. The Toyota Tacoma was redesigned just last year but they are already adding and improving on what they built last year. Want to know more about what you can expect from the new TRD Pro? Keep reading for additional information.
Last year, the Toyota brand announced they would be using high-strength steel in the frame of the vehicle and ultra-high strength steel in the body to enhance the overall strength of the vehicle. This year, the automaker announced it will be using a double wishbone coil-spring front suspension and leaf spring rear suspension with staggered outboard-mounted gas shocks. These improvements will further improve the rigidity of the vehicle.
Under the hood of this vehicle is the standard 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence. This engine produces 159 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. There is also the option for consumers to upgrade to the Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6 engine featuring Variable Valve Timing with Intelligent Wider Intake. This engine produces 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these engines will be combined with a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) or a manual transmission – the V6 engine gets six speed, while the four-cylinder engine gets five-speed.
The Toyota Tacoma also comes with a few premium features like Qi wireless charging, Smart key with push-button start, Blind-Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and much more!
