The Toyota brand is excited to release information about the 2017 Toyota Tundra. This vehicle can tow up to 10,500 pounds and comes with more than four dozen possible configurations, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The 2017 Toyota Tundra is available in three cab styles – two-door Regular cab, four-door Double Cab and four-door CrewMax. It is available in six trims – the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, and the TRD Pro. Powering the base trim is a 4.6-liter i-Force V8 engine the produces 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft of torque.
New for 2017 are additions to the color palette which include – Barcelona Red Metallic, Super White, Black, Inferno, and Quicksand. While the Limited trim adds two new standard amenities a 4-way power passenger seat to compliment the 10-way power driver’s seat.
To tow at the 10,500 capacity, the Toyota automaker built this vehicle slightly differently from past models. They used a TripleTech frame with wide full-boxed rails for the front, a reinforced C-channel under the cab and an open C-channel beneath the bed. The Toyota Tundra continues to abide by the SAE J2807 towing certification, and has made it standard on this vehicle since 2011. This vehicle has a Tow Package available that upgrades the cooling and electrical systems as well as provides different towing modes for the driver to choose from.
