The Toyota brand recently released their December 2016 sales figures. They sold a total of 202,047 units, which brought the annual Toyota vehicles sales to 2,118,402 units. “With another record year for the auto industry, consumers established Toyota as the number one retail brand in 2016, now five years running,” said Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager of the Toyota division. “Toyota division year-end results include record sales of both the Toyota RAV4 and the Toyota Highlander along with the Toyota Camry continuing its sales leadership as the number one selling passenger car in America for the 15th consecutive year.”
Yes, you read that correctly! The Toyota Camry sold 33,412 units during the month of December 2016 and earned the title of top passenger car sales for the 15th consecutive year! The 2017 model of this vehicle is available in four trim levels: the LE, SE, XSE and XLE. It is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. Some of the standard features on the base trim include heated mirrors, keyless remote entry and rearview camera – just to name a few.
The Toyota Highlander posted its best-ever month sales increasing 58 percent over December 2015. This vehicle also posted its best-ever year sales as well! The Toyota RAV4 increased sales 16.8 percent, making it the best-ever month sales as well as a best-ever year sales.
