The 7th Annual Hispanic Motor Awards were recently hosted at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Toyota brand is excited to announce that the Toyota Prius Prime was recognized by the Hispanic Motor Press as one of the Best Cars of 2017. Keep reading for more information about this honor and vehicle.
To decide which vehicles are honored, 19 Hispanic journalists who specialize in the auto industry assess vehicles based on how well they appeal to the needs of the Hispanic consumer. They specifically look at test drives, market availability, market affordability, design, comfort, safety, performance, functionality, accessory content, driver satisfaction, consumer final cost and overall value.
Hispanic Motor Press Jury Director Ricardo Rodriguez-Long presented the award and specifically cited the fuel efficiency of this vehicle. The Toyota Prius Prime is a hybrid vehicle and has a class-leading total driving range. This vehicle is also built to be strong with the new Toyota brand Global Architecture (TNGA) featuring a double-wishbone independent rear suspension. The suspension in this vehicle has also been tuned to give the vehicle a better, firmer stance when rounding curves on its drive.
“Toyota is committed to telling the hybrid story to Hispanic consumers and making a long-lasting environmental impact,” said Kristin Bemowski, Vehicle Marketing and Communications Specialist at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “We are so humbled by this accolade in Prius Prime’s first year and recognize the value in building the safest, most reliable vehicles on the road for our community.”
